I have been writing for a number of years. I considered myself a “ghost writer” because no one knew I had decided to write. My family and friends had no idea until the day my first book, “The Runaway” was published. Surprised? Yes, they were. I have been an avid reader all my life, but never outwardly expressed my desire to put my thoughts on paper for anyone else to read.
I didn’t automatically decide one day I would write. I was forced into it. In 2009 when the economy tanked, my business was almost nonexistent. I sat at home angry and alone.
Thoughts whirled through my mind and I realized I was being presented the perfect time, if there ever is such a time, to begin writing. I ordered a laptop and began. Words poured out of me and by the end of the year I had five books in various forms of rough drafts.
The following year, my business began to revive. I met people who were authors and knew how to get me to editors. Wow! Amazing how the Lord puts obstacles, events and people in your way. These were people I did not know. But with their help and guidance, I was able to get my first book published.
I am proud of my first book and get accolades from all who read it. It is a contemporary romance with a feisty Texas baby boomer. It is a spicy romance like Texas salsa. Ha! The setting is not in Texas, but the beautiful Colorado Rockies. I think part of my heart is there because my second book, “Laura’s Secrets” is set there also.
I am a Texan, born and bred. I love Texas history. The second book in the trilogy of “Secrets” is primarily set in San Antonio, Texas in the late 1880’s. I know San Antonio quite well and love researching its rich history to use in making my book a true historical romance. And yes, of course, it has spicy Texas romance.
I live in the beautiful Texas Hill Country near San Antonio with giant ancient Live Oak trees that stay green all year round, native Texas White Tail deer, which come to my backyard to be fed, and babbling creeks, which only babble when it rains. Summers here are brutal if it does not rain.
I have traveled all over Texas discovering the beauty in all areas of our fantastic state. We have mountains in the West, high plains farming communities in the Panhandle, pine forests in East Texas, thriving modern cities and shorelines bordering the Gulf of Mexico. We have it all.
I would love to hear from my readers. I hope you enjoy my stories about life, families, and love. My contact information is provided on my website.
Enjoy the Journey,
